Consciousness encompasses our perception of the world around us, serving as the foundation for our actions and experiences. Understanding consciousness is paramount due to its fundamental role in shaping our reality.
According to experts, consciousness is the illusion our brain makes up of how we perceive the world. Consciousness makes us aware of ourselves and what’s around us in the outside world. It also makes up a big part of how we focus on things and how if our attention shifts to another focal point, our conscious is the one controlling that. For instance, when individuals exhibit restlessness and constantly shift their attention, it’s their consciousness orchestrating these transitions. Exploring consciousness often reveals its close relationship with awareness—a heightened state that can foster a deeper connection with oneself and the environment.
Mind and body used to be an unconnected tie but today they are known to interact with each other. We hold an innate ability to overestimate steepness by relying on our visual cues. When we are physically going down the hill we can sense how steep it is but when we are just visualizing it it becomes harder to sense the steepness and we tend to visualize a more dramatic increase. This distortion is further influenced by our physical and mental states; for instance, individuals facing health challenges may struggle to accurately gauge steepness due to their limited mobility. Our brain holds this much power over how we perceive objects and inclinations like this example.
Sometimes our brains will let us see two different images in one like this example!
