If an assignment that was intended to assess student’s creativity was assigned for this class, I don’t believe AI would be useful to use. For example, if Professor Cutting assigned us to use our creativity by coming up with an original idea like graphic design/artwork, AI would only be able to come up with an idea that has already been created before. AI may be able to give you ideas to stem your concept off of but it can’t be as creative as the human controlling it. Since AI is data-based, it lacks the empathy and emotion that real humans express through their artwork and writing. Most of the songs, artwork, etc. that you prompt AI to come up with, it’s relying on what YOU tell it to do, not based on what it comes up with. With this, AI fails to replicate human creativity. Overall, AI diminishes human intelligence.
